Tory Maartje

APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist

Tory is a Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist with 20 years’ experience working in a range of clinical settings, 10 of which have been spent developing the strength and conditioning of elite athletes in sports programs at both the national and international level.

 

In Australia, Tory has experience working with a broad range of organisations and athletes including Tennis Australia, NRL, Rugby Australia, AFL, NBL1, Football Victoria, Masters Games, and national swimmers. Internationally she has worked with athletes and teams in rugby, football, hockey, and European handball.

 

Tory has a special interest in adolescent health with a strong focus on education, sports injury prevention, and rehabilitation, stating: “These are the foundation years for developing positive health practices, which set individuals up with the appropriate habits and coping strategies enabling lifelong sporting participation”

 

Tory also has an interest in lower limb injuries and post-operative conditions and thrives on working in high-performance environments. She has a personal interest in strength & conditioning and running, and she enjoys working within a team to achieve the best possible outcomes for everyone she treats.

Alex McMullin Senior Physiotherapist

Senior Physiotherapist

Alex's experience includes working as the Head Physiotherapist for Southside Eagles FC, Head Physiotherapist for Volleyball Queensland for the U14-U18 Beach Volleyball Nationals, provided coverage for Queensland Beach Volleyball Tour events and has also worked closely with junior ice hockey and soccer development programs providing strength and conditioning coaching.

 

Prior to completing his physiotherapy degree, Alex worked as an Exercise Scientist and Program Coordinator at a sport medicine clinic. His role as program coordinator was to facilitate a knee rehabilitation program designed for individuals who had undergone knee surgery or sustained a lower extremity injury.

 

Alex also brings with him a wealth of experience from spending four years as an elite athlete with the Australian Men’s Junior and Senior National Volleyball teams. His experience both as an elite athlete and as a clinician allows him to develop tailored rehabilitation and treatment plans that encompass both injury prevention and management and performance enhancement. Alex is the current Head Physiotherapist for Carina JRLFC senior and junior teams.

Aaron Turnbull Senior Physiotherapist

Senior Physiotherapist and Performance Coach

Aaron is the Director and Head Physiotherapist here at Game Time Performance. Coming from a rugby union and gym background, Aaron is passionate about sports physiotherapy and gym-based rehabilitation for athletes of all levels.

Since moving to Brisbane at the start of 2016, Aaron has worked with:

  • Queensland Reds U16s

  • Souths Logan Magpies QLD Cup

  • Northern Pride QLD Cup

  • Iona Swimming 

  • South Side Aquatics

  • Carina Leagues Club Tigers (Physio/S&C)

  • Bulimba Valleys Rugby League (Physio/S&C)

Over the last 5 years Aaron has developed a particular interest and expertise within ACL rehab, seeing >30 ACL patients per year. Aaron leaves no stone unturned with his ACL athletes, ensuring they return to sport in the best condition of their career and stay playing the sport they love. Aaron is currently studying a Masters or Sports Physiotherapy (finish 2025), striving to become the Head Physiotherapist of an NRL side in the near future.

Chris Dillion Physio

Chris graduated UQ’s Physiotherapy program in 2002 and has worked in Private Practice in Brisbane since 2004 after some time overseas. Chris attained his post graduate sports degree in 2006, and is an accredited APA Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist.⁣

Since then, he has worked with several teams across a range of sports including community level swimming and AFL as well as elite development pathways in Rugby Union, Cricket, BMX and Football.⁣ Chris spent several years as head Physio for Easts Rugby Union and worked concurrently in roles with Australian Rugby Union and the Reds Academy and u21 programs.

 

 In this environment, 

Chris was exposed to a significant number of traumatic upper and lower limb injuries and enjoys the challenges of knee and shoulder reconstruction rehabilitation.⁣

 

Chris has now over 15 years of experience dealing with junior and aspiring professional athletes which has ultimately nurtured a particular interest in adolescent athletic development and a strong desire to prevent injury through physical screening and injury prevention programming.⁣

Chris is currently the Physiotherapist for Churchies’ first XI Football Program.⁣ When trying to unwind, Chris enjoys photography, martial arts and spending time with family and friends.⁣

Matt Marmin Performance Coach

Performance Coach

Matt is a strength and conditioning coach who has worked across multiple sport performance environments including rugby league, AFL, rugby sevens and rowing.

Matt is currently the Head of Performance for the semi-professional women’s program at Wynnum Manly Seagulls Rugby League.

Matt takes pride in developing strong athletes who are prepared for everything their sport throws at them and specialising in areas such as plyometrics, speed and rehabilitation.
